Why don't they leave homosexuals alone, and concentrate on this?

Politicians sometimes act as the scum of the earth. They rarely have any credibility but now with this problem with gays marrying, they have taken the cake. Bunch of hypocrites, how will a homosexual marrying one another get this stuck economy going? Or how will it bring back jobs from overseas? Or give all the help to war veterans who are not only coming back maimed physically but spiritually and definitely mentally, and instead of finding jobs or help, go through a worse hell than Iraq and Afghanistan going from shelter to shelter or plainly living on the streets? Or having unscrupulous clinics or hospitals infect them with poor care and worse hygiene? Or how will stopping these people's marriage stop the ring-around-the-rosies approach the state and district attorneys are taking with thousands of people committing open-fraud to MEDICARE? Taking them to court (after using some of them as informants) and then crossing their arms when some of these fraudsters "simply cross over to Cuba"?!!! And, how does denying homosexuals a marriage license stop the sex trade with children? Or the human trafficking which is dragging hundreds of thousands of half-starved people from one continent to another, enslaving them physically and sexually?!!! Can anyone tell me how a homosexual wanting to get a marriage license hurt anyone? CEDORSMULAS, you have made me laugh the way you say this, but in truth, with all the horrible problems the extremely poor having in this country, and everything else I have described above, do you think gay marriage is something for politicians to worry about? Or work so hard at trying to stop? FLOWER, and everyone else who've answered: Just for the record, I AM NOT GAY, I just can't stand injustice, and at this point and time I feel that some people strongly opposing the marriage of people of same sex, are doing so from a religious point of view. And, you know what they used to say "Never argue about politics or religion!" Every religious person is entitled to their belief, as long as those beliefs DO NOT interfere with the freedom of choice of any individual. I notice that in the U.S. there is much more hypocrisy than anywhere else, because though many still believe that government and religion are must keep out of each other's way, religion (even now that George W. Bush is no longer the President), keeps interfering in most everyone's lives, including not allowing humans from benefiting fully from stem cell research. As for AMERICANS NOT ALLOWED TRAVELING FREELY to CUBA, I constantly find advertisements (even in my Gmail account), about how Ameri

It is a hot topic in this election year. All that other stuff gets looked at but it is not as controversial as gay marriage. Which I am for by the way.

It's the hot thing to debate about at the moment. In the past it was women's rights and blacks rights, now it's gays. It will be something else in the future. What i'm baffled at is that every time they debate about these kinds of things, they tend to forget that they're PLAYING WITH PEOPLES LIVES! They don't think of... More

Gay marriage rights is one important issue among many for millions of people. Focusing on other issues does not mean no one is working on the employment problem. If that were true the stock market would not have doubled in volume... More
