Will my caution for fraud and theft stop me being a support worker?

I am a recovering gambling addict and would like to become a support worker for a local accomodation charity that I am currently residing with. I am aware that I have to provide an enhanced crb check so will have to declare my caution anyway. I have experienced a lot with my career in the forces and believe at the age of just 25 I truly have something to offer these people.
