Conservatives do you realize that the USA was a Socialist country in World War 2?

There was rationing of food, fuel, rubber, metal, clothing and automobiles. The government promoted healthy eating and encouraged Americans to eat 3 good meals a day and produced videos and leaflets about nutrition and distributed them to schools, homes, Churches etc and food waste was a crime. The government dictated what companies should and should not produce. The government took control of many industries. Everyone was forced to work and the government dictated what jobs the people would do. America was allies with the Communist Russians at that time. The USA was basically Socialist during ww2.

Hogwash. I was alive then were you? . It was a desperate national effort to save the country. Had we waited much longer we would all be speaking German right now. In a fight for survival any sort of protest [treason] was not taken lightly so be glad you can speak your mind now. . No - we were not socialist.
