Do you think wearing a tie to work is still important these days?

I wear a tie everyday to work and i hate it. I personally think they are becoming old fashioned and they are uncomfortable. I much prefer the smart casual look, so when i get home i dont have to change clothes. Suits are just abother way to seperate the classes in soceity between the haves and the have nots.
