What is the better major to pursue: computer science or technology?

Based on pay scale and job availability. Also I'd like to know the differences in real world application (what kind of jobs could I expect with each degree). Basically, which degree looks more impressive to an employer? Thanks to those that answer.

Pay is going to be similar. There seem to be a greater number of jobs where I work in IT and fewer in Programming but that will vary business to business. Employers will hire you for a specific job.
