How do you go about getting a Job on Cruiseship?

I'm looking to embark on a new career path and I need information on working on a cruiseship. Like what kinds of positions do they offer ? I know its not all peaches and cream and fun exciting getaways but can just about anyone apply to work on these ships? where exactly do you apply for a job like this and when do they hire people ? Any info will be helpful- thanks in advance! :D

All of the major cruise lines have "jobs" or "careers" information right on their web sites. That is where you must go to apply and not have to pay any fees.
