Is there an easy way to copy and burn my program files so I can reinstall them after I do a reinstall on XP?

I have an old pc and reinstalling win xp at least once a year and loose all my downloaded program files. Need to know if there is a way to EASILY! put them back from a cd with my files on it?

You can't save installed programs off your computer. Windows is designed deliberately such that you can't take programs off the computer once they are installed, and move them to another computer... More

No. You will have to reload all .exe files.

get yourself a external hard drive or a USB stick with enough memory,copy the files from your pc and paste them into your external had drive or USB

You cannot copy programs, they have to be installed from their installation disks.

Possible... but not easy at all. Make sure you have all the original install files before you reinstall XP. Some programs would run without problem, but very few. Most require additional files that are stored elsewhere other than what is in the Program Files folder as well as most require registry keys that were... More
