What is the difference between the USMC RECON and FORCE RECON?

Im confused about this stuff. Which of the two gets to see direct action like the Navy SEALS and which one does mainly reconaissance missions. An example of a mission would help. Thanks everyone

Both. Force Recon Go someplace on earth at the whim of of Marine Chain of Command, do sneaky $h!t, report back, make some sorry MFs day really F ING bad or whatever you told to if different from above. Recon Go forward...wherever that is...see "whats up". Report back, or see above.

A recon could be one man or twenty or more. They are after information only, strength etc. movement of the enemy, which direction. Recon stays out of sight and hidden. A force recon is when a platoon or company goes out looking for the enemy to kill.

Adding onto Jack^...Force Recon was the Marine Corps equivalent of Special Operations until MARSOC was created in 2005. Now Force Recon is used less in Direct Action missions and more for deep reconaissance. MARSOC is used primarily for the Marine Corps classified direct action missions
