Could a UK Electrician immigrate to America and be an electrician too?

I'm an electrician from the UK, and am interested in immigrating to America one day, Are any aspects of work different, and what are general salaries?

Not sure but the electrical trade here has gone way down. Many companies prefer to hire unlicensed illegals at minimum wage than a licensed electrician. They don't really seem to care if it costs them more in the long run to fix problems found later.

You aren't qualified for any temporary employment visa, and there is no category for skilled migration. You need an immediate blood relation who is a US citizen and who earns enough to support you and has a home for you to petition for your immigration. no ... you would have to be licences in the individual State ... ands some are closed shops but its moot .. you would never get a visa

Unless he/she has an advanced degree, such as Electrical Engineering, probably not legally.
