Can you tell me somethings about the army aviation unit?
I just joined the army and I'm going in as a 15N avionics mechanics so obviously Im gonna be in an aviation unit. I was wonder what type if environment it was? Is it pretty laid back? Anything really I just wanna know what Im gonna possibly run into while in there?

Yes, Army aviation is pretty laid back. You will be assigned to an helicopter maintenance company. You will be considered part of the backshops. The backshops consist of Hydraulic shop, engine shop, avionics and sheetmetal repair. Consider each shop a squad... More

You'll be working in a hanger all day. If you like fixing helicopters that's what you'll be doing. If you get deployed you'll be in a hanger too. You'll never go outside the wire unless you are part of a Down Aircraft Recovery Team even then the place will be safe as hell with infantry and special forces all over the... More
