Why is the American immigration system so RACIST?

It's cringeworthy how they freak out about illegal Mexicans. As their logic goes, illegal Mexicans are poor and depraved people from a backwards country, and they come to America to mooch off of it. Once there, they steal jobs by working at slave labor wages, form ghettos and gangs, commit crimes, and overstretch government services such as welfare and public education. Not to mention they smuggle drugs too. But only Mexicans are subject to this stigma, not Canadians (America's other border). Canadians suffer from slightly lower incomes and considerably higher (ie 20%) prices of goods than Americans, so they have the same economic incentives as Mexicans to illegally move in. Like Mexicans, they smuggle drugs across the border (President Obama complains to Prime Minister Harper about drugs every time they meet). Like Mexicans, they commit lots of crime (there are Canadians on the US death row), and they also steal jobs and university spaces. And unlike Mexicans, illegal Canadians don't steal minimum wage jobs from high-school dropouts - they are skilled workers and they steal middle-class jobs from established middle-class Americans. They will also steal university spaces from Americans because it is very easy to get high grades in Canada's system, and because universities love international students because they can charge triple tuition. The damage done to American society is possibly even deeper with illegal Canadians than with illegal Mexicans. Mexico is subject to extremely strict border security, while the Canada-US border has no military presence anywhere along its vast length. Ten million Canadians enter the US every year at one point or another for "shopping" and "tourism". How many of them never return? And how many cross the border not at one of its official checkpoints and go completely undocumented? Crossing the Canada-US border illegally is so easy it's laughable. As a Canadian, I sneer at your double standards. So illegal Canadians are okay because they are "a white country" with British roots, while illegal Mexicans are an abomination? You Americans really need to crack down on your institutionalized racism.

I completely understand your point and I agree a double standard does exist. However, there are many, many more i****************s coming from Mexico and other hispanic nations than there are from Canada. The problem is not one of race, but one of numbers. Even though a single Mexican citizen entering illegally into... More

It's not about racism. It's about numbers. There are way, way, way more illegals coming from Mexico than there are coming from Canada.
