Help finding colleges?
I'm interested in studying economics, english, or education, and I'm mostly looking at liberal arts schools. So far I'm looking at Columbia (pretty big reach), Colby (reach), NYU (target), and Northeastern (target) I want to go to a school in New York, Maine, Massachusetts, or that area. Some information about my application: My GPA is around 3.7 SAT Score: 2130 Reading-740 Math-600 Writing-790 (I'm planning to retake for math) SAT subject tests: French (800) (French is my first language), World History (730) I've taken 2 AP tests (French and World History) and gotten a 5 on both. I am currently taking 5 IB classes and earned a B+ and 4 A's on these..my predicted scores are English A1 HL-5, Biology HL-6, Math Studies-6, Spanish AB-7, Economics HL-7 All my other classes are honors courses, which I got all B's and A's in. After school, I do ballet. Freshman year I was on the editorial board of the school literary magazine. Freshman and Sophomore year I was a member of my dance school's company, and I put in about 15/20 hrs a week for class and rehearsal. We also did a lot of charity work and performances. I also worked there as an assistant teacher for a year, and ran rehearsals for young students for a year as well. Summer of sophomore year, I worked at a gelateria as a cashier and server. Now, I live in Athens, Greece. I do ballet for two hours a week at a Royal Academy of Ballet (in England) accredited school. I'm also part of the school's cinema club and I was the editor and head formatter of the Humanities Course Publication this year. Summer of junior year I interned at a starting maritime security company. Next year (senior year), I may also join a club to learn to handle and shoot a gun. From the feedback I received from my teachers, the first draft of my common application essay was very good, and I'm working on a second draft over the summer I'm trying to focus on finding a few more target schools, and a few safeties as well. Does anyone have any suggestions? BQ: what are my chances of getting into the four colleges I'm looking at so far? Thanks for any help :D

You got a good application. GPA is good, job experience, and extracurricular activities. And good on the SAT. Colleges look for all of these things when they review applications. I think you are an automatic lock for NYU and Northeastern. The other schools you should go on their website and see their admissions... More

just tried looking this up, There are literally tons of Columbia colleges and universities. you gota be specific with these things- its makes it easier to help you! ok, not all schools accept AP credits and evn if they say they do they might only get you out of a college level elective class not an actual core class...
