Clinical laboratory scientist (medical technologist) or a biochemistry degree?

I was wondering which bachelors degree I should go for, clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist or a biochemistry degree. Is it hard finding job when you only have a biochemistry degree? Which pays better?

You can make more money with a doctorate in biochemistry than with a medical technology degree, but it's harder finding a job with the biochemistry degree. You can make more money with a medical technology degree than with a B.S. in biochemistry, and it's still harder finding a job with a biochemistry degree.

The biochem. degree would head you toward higher pay. You'd get an MS then Doctor of Biochem. Even in this economy, there are jobs at all three levels if you run out of funds.
