How many jobs are meaningful in a real sense?

I don't mean money here, I'm talking about the actions you perform are essential to keeping people alive. By this, I mean farmers, road builders, people who extract natural resources, things of that nature. Most jobs seem to be useless, that is, accountants, lawyers, politicians, police officers, restraunt workers, any businessperson, bankers, etc. All those jobs and thousands more, serve no actual purpose in the physical world, their purpose is only one that exists because of superficial desires of people. In an idealistic world, you could do without any of those jobs, and most jobs, but you could never do away with farmers or road builders, because those people are fundamental to our existence. Whereas a lawer for instance, only exists if there is societal chaos, a banker only exists because a financial system exists, which doesn't exist out of any law of nature. Our species has lives for hundreds of thousands of years by hunting and gathering, without a financial system, without a formal government, without jobs, only tasks that each person of a tribe had, but every task was essential to life. Now, I'd say at least 80% of jobs only exist because our society requires them, not because they keep the world actually standing.

What is meaning? What is real-sense? What is the function of a job in relation to the economy? Yes, but what is it we are all generally trying to do? Is it a matter of chaos, or dependency....maybe both?

In economics, we learn that are four necessities: food, clothing, shelter and warmth [I would add health care]. So I would say any job that provides these, or educates others on how to provide these is essential.
