Why are Air Force and Navy recruiters so awful?
For the past year I have been sandbagged by two different Air Force recruiters and ignored by my current one several times. About three or four months ago i went and talked to a Marines recruiter and the guy was amazing, he called me literally (literally) everyday and I have heard of Marine recruiters picking their poolies up, bringing them to eat, going shoppng and working out with them. The same with the Army recruiters who are even friendlier. Now I want to know why one of my three Air Force recruiters could not return a simple goddamn call of mine? Is the Air Force so overmanned that they cant even return a call? I have heard this same thing from many people. Have AF recruiters always been bad or is this just a regional thing? I know I sound like a whiny bitch but I cant understand why it is difficult to do such a lax job, when a Marine can do it ten times better. Can someone enlighten me? Feel free to insult because I know thats what you military guys like doing so much.

Yes, that is exactly it. The Air Force doesn't need to recruit as heavily. In fact, they have been actively letting folks go for years. The Air Force invests more heavily in equipment and training than a large volume of personnel... More

In my 23 years in the military so far (including 3 as a Recruiter) the USAF has NEVER had a problem with Recruiting. Therefore they don't have to "beat the bushes" for Recruits. And I never saw an Air Force Recruiter with a mission over 2 per month whereas in the Army I regularly had a mission of 4 (or more) per... More

The AF has so many people interested that they don't really need to play games with folks. Judging by your post, you are on an information hunt. You have not enlisted and are not currently in DEP, When YOU get serious, HE will get serious. That stated.......if you have a marginal ASVAB score, the AF recruiter will not... More

i feel the same way... air force recruiters are awful. so what if its overmanned, i still don't see a reason for them to do a awful job.

short answer: yes. the AF and Navy don't need you. in fact they don't really want you at all as they have 15 people (all better qualified than you) lined up to take 5 open positions. in fact not so long ago the AF recruiter I know was literally told to recruit NO ONE for three straight months.
