Should I major in elementary education or secondary education?
I don't know which would be better for me. I'm going to be 23 when I graduate college. I really want to teach high school biology but I'm worried about the authority problems the kids will have with a young teacher who is eye level with them. I love science and that is what I really wanted to do. Now I'm looking at elementary education but of course it not just science. Do any of you have experience in one of these?

I graduated 4 years ago with elementary ed certification and am almost now finished with my masters (May 2013) and still can't get a job! I've had experiences as an interim teacher and tutoring but nothing that continued. I've been told that nearly 200+ people apply for every elementary job that posts. That being said... More

Well, I'm not a teacher, but I am a student so I can give you their perspective. I had a teacher last year, she was shorter than me, myself being about 5"1 she was maybe 4"11, sometimes people mistook her for a student, but never in her classroom.
