If I am a GSM in the NAVY, What civilian jobs can I get after I retire?

GSM = Gas Turbines System Technician - Mechanical.

If your retired from the NAVY what differance does it make ? You can work on gas turbines when you get out iI would guess ! they have them in the real world too ! Its called a JET ENGINE

You can work toward an A&P License. The Gas Turbine Engine the Navy uses are the same engines used on B-747 aircraft only modified to be water cooled.

Some of my former snipes got out and immediately went to work for various power companies. Some of the newer power plants are using gas turbine generators for electrical production, so these sailors can step right in with little re-training.
