How do i convince my mum to get a dog?

I no wat breed i want : toy poodle ( i even no wat i want to name her). ive researched everyhing about them and made a slideshow full of hundreds of things for example the annual cost and upkeep. i ve tried begging and that just annoys and angers my mum. and cleaning my room or high grades wont help the situation either. also my dad said he'd pay to buy the dog if my mum was happy with having a dog. my mum just recently told me her problems with getting a dog are the expense, damage, winter walks in the dark and being tied to the house if im else where ( but i only meet up with friends about twice a year). could someone plz help me come up with four solutions/ strong argues this means so much to me so any help is highly appreciated :)
by the way i d appreciate it if no one commented accept ur not getting a dog or ur mums house ur mums rules only positive helpful comments please :)

I'd been asking for a dog for ten years by the time I got my own dog, and it was a rescue from one of my relatives, a BYB Cockapoo-Bichon mutt that resulted from my aunt's friend's unwanted dog becoming pregnant. It's very opportunistic to get a dog when you live with a family that aren't avid dog-lovers. Honestly, I much rather have waited longer and gotten a great dog from a reputable breeder, this dog has run upwards of 700$ due to her getting sick and having allergies. I'm supposed to inherit a farm from my father in a few years, and I don't have a farm dog, just a watch dog at best, and I need a serious working dog for cattle, sheep, and hog work.

I'm being positive. You'll get a dog someday. Childhood definately doesn't last forever. What, 18 years of childhood before you must face adult challenges? And then about 52 years after that of making your own decisions. It's okay. You could start drawing dogs or make a dog comic in the meantime. I thought I'd never get a horse--- my father has a government job that requires he move every few years, so I lived in apartments, gated communities, and relative's houses for the majority of my childhood. My dad surprised us all by buying farmland and lo and behold, he bought me the horse I had been riding at sporting stable and now I have my own horse! I was a teenager then, I still have the horse and couldn't be happier with her, as I will also be inheriting the farmland when my father needs to move again :)

Maybe you should start off with a smaller pet like a hamster or fish and show ur mum how u can take care of it well. Then if she knows she can rely on you, she might just change her mind. Hope this helped :)
Answered By: Jenna - 8/12/2012
It sounds like you already have. You may just have to wait till your old enough to live on your own. Exacerbating the situation won't help. I'm sorry I don't have more helpful advice. My only solution is to have your dad talk to her but if she doesn't change her mind, you don't want to upset her and end up with more problems on your plate.

Edit: I like the answer posted above. You may want to try for something smaller, maybe a cat even They are cheaper and completely indoor.

Hi. Just try showing your mom that you are responsible enough for a pet :) I have been in this situation before, and sometimes nothing works because our parents are set in their ways and don't like to give in. I really hope it works out for you. Maybe you could talk to your dad? It seems that he is with you on getting a dog. Good luck!

Well have you had a dog before? My current puppy is the first i have ever had and SHE IS A HANDFUL!
She whines ALL THE TIME! I thought I would be able to do it, it would be a challenge but it wouldn't be too hard. It IS hard! And my dog is a high energy dog so many times a day I have to go out and run around our garden with her until I see her tiring a bit. So if you are sure that the dog won't bark or whine and be good plus you have to clean up her p*e and poo in the house and train her and take her for walks.... If you would be ok to do ALL that and still have energy for school well.....
You will probably be at school most of the day and the dog will be with your mom right?
If she doesn't want one when she will be with the dog for quite a bit of the day then you won't get one.
There is NO way to convince a parent to get you a dog. If they say no its no no no
Sorry if this wasn't very helpful but this is true. Good Luck tho

Answered By: Nathalia Clue - 8/12/2012
She sounds like my mum lol. The reason my mum didnt want no pets was because she thought she would be the one cleaning up its mess, walking it, feeding it, vet bills etc. she was right in one way, like dog insurance, whos gona pay that. but back then i just wanted a dog, i didnt care what she said. uve done good by looking at the costs etc, the best thing i did was move out, now i got 2 siberian huskies and 3 bengals. and yes they sh*t all over the garden, then chew up my hairbrush/shoes/take food from the work tops/take my make up and chew it, rip there harnesses up, escape, dig my garden up, but that was when they were babies lol, now there nearly 1, and there great, insurance is cheap £15.00 a month for 1 dog. but u need time and patiants with any dog. walking it, feeding it, when you go on holiday can u afford kennels etc? i hwent away last weekend and got a dog walker for 1 hour, that cost me £18 ph. so u must bear in mind cost of a pet aint cheap, then also what a bout getting the dog done? thats a few hundred pound. If u got the money then fine. but its ard work.

Its you moms house and her rules and she said no dog so you have to accept that

She doenst want to clean up after the dog since you won't, she doenst want to pay for food and vet bills, she doenst want a dog since it will desotry the house.

Stop being an annoying spoiled little brat. She said no dog so that means no dog.

I need to find a home for these girls. They'll be 1 yr old in July. I have checked alot of webb sites and all they want are AKA dogs and offer them for sell in Germany, California, Canada, Virginia etc: All dog mills. They are pure bred. I would like to sell them for $200.00 which covers there shots. They're not AKA but still beautiful dogs and very smart. I don't understand why they're aren't any sites for dog donations. It would seem that someone would love to have these animals to train. I've fostered these girls for nearly a year and love them very much but can't continue due to other circumstances. Please contact me at pdanimaljones@yahoo.com if you can give me any information that might help me find a dog job or a good family to sell them too. I would very much like to donate them to a guide dog, cadavor dog or some kind of school that can train them.

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

Any specific advice on what clothing items this MALE student should wear to work would be helpful. The dress code is "business casual". As if any student knows what that means.

I'm applying online for a job at Debenhams. It's just a temporary part time job but I have no previous retail experience, just in customer service, and I am finding some of the questions rather difficult. Our commitment to training and development encourages our people to grow their futures with us. If successful in joining our team, how will you become an expert at what you do? and At Debenhams, our people make all the difference to our customers. If you were a Stock Movement Adviser with us, how would our customers know that you are focused on their individual shopping experience? Any help in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated, many thanks!

I am in the process of planning my own wedding and I am having a fantastic time doing so. I have always enjoyed planning things: group vacations for my friends and I, road trips, etc... I could be described as a slight control freak and I am a perfectionist. I know I would exceed, and enjoy my career, if I were to make this a possibility. How do I do it? How do I get my name out there? How much do event planners charge for their services? I have a lot of questions, and hope that people who are self employed would be able to give me some pointers on getting my business up and running. Thank You in advance for your time and help.
