Don't know if I have the job?

I found out about vacancies for Land Rover/Jaguar doing line work and or quality control through a friend. I contacted them and was told to bring in my NI number, bank details, passport and another form of identification. I went there and was told to fill out a form which consisted of basic details, NI number, bank details, references, education and previous job experience (I have none) After that the man at the desk went over the form to check if everything was correct and then made photocopies of my passport and identification. After that he sat down and talked to me for a good 10 minutes about the job, what I will be doing , the shifts, pay rates and said I would need to buy work boots and cargo pants. After all this he said we're done and I'll have to wait 7-10 days for the vetting to be completed and once he has the positive from Land Rover he'll call me and tell me which site I'll be working on and what shift. My question is do I have the job and I'm just waiting for the background check to be done? Or is Land Rover looking over my details and then deciding? I have no previous job expereince so I really don't want to get my hopes up. Thanks for reading and I appreciate any answer.
