What kind of jobs can a 16 year old get in Southern California?

I turn 16 this weekend and I'm starting to think about jobs. Do most places allow 16 year olds to work? Does anyone know of any good places for a first job in Southern Cali?

You can legally work in CA at 14 years old, but at 16, you are allowed to work more hours and therefore you are more attractive to employers than 14 and 15 year olds, but there just aren't a lot of jobs for teens out there now. Nothing, I am almost 20 and no one is hiring. Not even McDonalds. We live in a recession.

The same jobs that are available to 16 year olds everywhere in the country. That means fast food places, some retail stores, janitorial, bus boy in restaurants, delivery boy, box boy at the supermarket, possibly nurses aid in a care facility, etc... More
