is it ok to show companies graphic design work i have done for other companies?
I am a graphic designer. I am interviewing with a few other companies for graphic design jobs. They have asked to see my portfolio. Should I only show them things I have done for unpaid work or freelance jobs, or is it ok to show them things I have done while working as Marketing Director for another company? (I have created Valpak ads, truck wraps, billboards, fliers, t-shirts, etc.) The companies I am interviewing with are not competitors of my previous company - they are in completely different industries.

yes: IT's called a Portfolio. There nothing illegal about it.

There should be no reason why you wouldn't show your work. Just don't let it out of your sight. Don't be distracted.

It should be okay to show both as long as it is work that you've created. If anything is a group project you might want to mention it and your role in the project... More
