University student looking for an international work placement?

I am a student studying at university in the United Kingdom. I want to apply for an international placement in the USA however, it is hard to do so as our placement co-ordinator does not help with international placements. I have seen a few sites that help you look for an international placement but they charge a fee to help you get your J1 Visa etc. I am an american citizen so I do not need a visa. Does anyone know a good site to help me search for placements abroad without requiring a fee? I am looking for placements around the Miami, Florida area. Much appreciated :)

This is such a strange question. If you're American, and want a job in Florida, wouldn't one just look for a job? You're not an immigrant. Why would you need to pay a fee? You studying in the UK is really not a factor. Just go look for a job.
