What reason would low-income people have to vote ROmney?

He doesn't want to raise the minimum wage rate, he wants to lower federal aid for higher education, he has no plans to be tougher on exploitative businesses that pay next to nothing (Wal-Mart) and he has succeeded in cutting education funding to help pay for the Olympics once.

This and more sounds to me like a man who is trying to close all doors of opportunity to the working poor.

I am fairly well-off, with a job that pays me very well, but I care about others who work jobs and see little fruit for their labor. What reason would these people have to vote Romney?

It isn't just lower income Americans who should fear a Romney-Ryan administration, neither of whom have any use for the 47?f Americans who do not pay federal income taxes, but whose percentage paid in other taxes equals or exceeds Mitt's effective tax rate, it's the American middle class.

Cast a glance at what is now happening at Sensata Technologies in Freeport, Illinois. Those are good middle class jobs being shipped to China right now by Bain Capital, Mitt Romney's alma mater. Sensata is a company that contributes significantly to the local Freeport economy. The loss of the purchasing power of its employee paychecks and the loss of payments remitted for the acquisition of materials and supplies from other local businesses will be felt deeply in that community.

Mitt's agenda is to give investors an even better deal than they enjoy today. But it comes at a high cost because it is an open invitation to every private equity firm in the world to come to America and pick over choice companies like Sensata and dismember them and ship all the middle class jobs to China because slave wages and no regulations increase profits dramatically. Who doesn't understand this yet at this late date in the presidential campaign? YOUR job and mine are utterly unimportant to Mitt and Paul. All that matters to them are enhancing corporate profits and paying no taxes. That's how they have always operated, and private equity will rule in America the next four years if Mitt is elected. Guaranteed!

Don't vote against YOUR own economic interests. Vote to re-elect Obama and Biden and other Democrats and give the American middle class a chance to survive.

This country must be prosperous to be able to help the poor. Right now we are borrowing from China to do that and is just crazy. Romney will put this country back on tract to prosperity. Our country needs a long term solution not a quick fix by allocating money from here to there.
Answered By: have a nice day - 10/26/2012
Because a prosperous country is good for everyone. I took no government help to go to college. I worked minimum wage and did fine until I graduated and became upper middle class.

Raising the minimum wage puts poor people out of work
federal aid for education
he supports that

but why is taking my money okay to give to people who refuse to work

AGREE 100?
Sometimes being poor isn't our fault. There are good people who try hard and work hard but hardly get to see any money. (We are in a situation like this) Seems like everyone cares for the middle class these days or the rich. And it's sad that each class looks down on the other. Rich looks down on the middle class, the middle class looks down on the poor class. Me and my family are just starting off. Not everyone has family who can help out or pay for college. To get a good job now, you need to go to college, but you need to pay for college. So, it's all a big circle. Romney just seems like he's a shark after everyone's money. He doesn't care for people like me. Not a lot of people do these days. You can tell Obama has that heart.
Answered By: Betty - 10/24/2012
Romney comes across to me, as WAY more enthusiastic about creating jobs. Getting America back to work. I am struggling financially and wondering if life will get better anytime soon. But I'm voting for Romney!

I'm tired of seeing people truly convinced that Romney is a greedy rich man. He is far from that.
Answered By: Austin Shedevil - 10/24/2012
Correction, he's doing the opposite. And if you're well off, you should know better than to vote Obama because obama's "solution" is the more money you make, the more he takes away from you and all your hard work would have gone to waste. Does that sound fair to you? Doctors, business people, and so much more are successful for a REASON. They worked hard and earned it! so pretty much saying Obama is punishing success. Romney on the other hand has had many many years in the business world and would be honestly good for our econemy. Looking at his records he has had success withs everything he has done, including turning around struggling business. He's got the brains and that's what we need. Vote wisely
Answered By: Hannah - 10/24/2012
Because so many in that 53?eem to think that Romney has their best interests at heart.

But should Romney get in, they will find out the hard way that all the cutting that he and Ryan will do will hurt them too.

The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer and the Middle Class will be lost forever.
Answered By: darrin b - 10/24/2012
The fact is people vote for stupid reasons, be it race, religion, or just the fact that they aren't getting what they expect from the government. The fact is people believe that Obama has more empathy for them than Romney, so what this election will come down to is who can convince the voters in the swing states the other is the worse choice.
Answered By: Mark G - 10/24/2012
Because theres more than a few low-income bitter little racists who want to align themselves with and be seen as one of the "big boys," poor little suck-ups...
Answered By: sully - 10/24/2012
What are they going to do for money when we are all broke? What will Obama do for them when the lending stops? Do you suppose this will go on for anoter four years? I know that doesn't matter. There is hope.
Answered By: Ollicopter - 10/24/2012
Because of Obama's vampire need to suck the working people dry of their hard earned income through higher taxes that has forced food prices to rise. Raise those taxes so he and Michelle can go on $12 million worth of vacations, 16 so far (only 1 this year, wonder why that is), play those rounds of golf, blow off security briefings and jobs council meetings so Michelle can go on extravagant shopping sprees. How many vacations do low income people get to go on....... on average? Raise those taxes so Obama can have fully armed security but skimp on Embassy security personnel ammunition (no ammunition for them). Raise those taxes so he can watch for 7 hours an American Ambassador and 3 other Americans fight for lives in REAL TIME and even though he has all resources of the entire free world at his disposal, DO NOTHING to help them. Raise those taxes so after 4 Americans are dead, raped, tortured and murdered, Obama can skip up those stairs and zip off to Vegas for good food, good drinks, lots of laughs and applause. Arm the enemy, disarm the USA, raise those taxes so food prices will continue to go up. Why would low income people vote for Romney? Because low income doesn't mean stupid. Because low income doesn't mean they think it's just jiffy to have a president that watches Americans die and doesn't do anything to help them. Because low income people on food stamps, notice their food stamps aren't going as far as they once used to. Because low income doesn't mean low class, low life or no sense. Got it? Get it? Good!

Conservatives of all income ranges understand that what makes an economy work, is NOT the special treatment some demographics get but a focus on what strengthens the economy as a whole. This kind of tide raises all boats, big and small.

Liberals look political support by "what's in it for me", not Conservatives. Liberals was to have minimum wage raised, ignoring the fact that 95?f employers already pay more than this. All it does is hurt entry level workers and "apprenticeships" by employers going with people with experience for those jobs. Minimum wage pushes them more to workers with experience, or to hire fewer workers period. Conservatives don't expect to work the drive-up window at Burger King and be given a middle-class life style. They understand that employers pay employees for their skills they bring to the job. Liberals view employers as money bags that can be squeezed in supplying "living wage" pay. Conservatives know better.

This same attitude goes for Wal-Mart.

Conservatives want an economic environment that is business-friendly, creates jobs and opportunities for all. Romney's supply-side economics is the same kind that has revived the economy, even making it into a booming one, EVERY TIME it's been employed for nearly 100 years! Getting government off the back of business is how to make a prosperous economy.

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

I am in the process of planning my own wedding and I am having a fantastic time doing so. I have always enjoyed planning things: group vacations for my friends and I, road trips, etc... I could be described as a slight control freak and I am a perfectionist. I know I would exceed, and enjoy my career, if I were to make this a possibility. How do I do it? How do I get my name out there? How much do event planners charge for their services? I have a lot of questions, and hope that people who are self employed would be able to give me some pointers on getting my business up and running. Thank You in advance for your time and help.
