Do you have to be good at maths to be an accountant?
I'm 26 and thinking of applying for a job as a trainee accountant in the organisation I currently work in. The problem is I was never a huge maths talent and haven't done anything maths related apart from a finance exam when I was doing my internal audit qualification. Should I drop the idea of doing an accountancy qualification or go for it?

Not really. You only need basic math skills. I was kind of bad in math but now I work in the accounts receivable dept at my job. You only need basic addition, subtraction, multiplication skills. Dont worry. You can be trained and at first its confusing, but you will catch on. If I did, anyone can.

Do some research: e.g., you could ask the people in your organisation whether you're good enough to apply etc. Accounting isn't the difficult theory; it's more of practical maths, I believe.

Oh no, as long as you were OK at Art and Drama you will be fine. Just how is it you are considering a career in a field that requires a high level of expertise in a subject that you were not much good at? hardly a realistic expectation is it.
