which is best to work in human services, master in public adminstration or pyschology?

I will have a bachelors degrees in human service management and was wondering which route should I take, I live in the state of alabama , someone told that a masters in psychology is useless in alabama to work in the human service field, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks

I think it would be important to determine what area of human services you are wanting to work. If you are wanting to find management employment with the state, keep in mind many management positions are hired from within. Master of psychology is definitely a plus for you career. Psychology sounds better in a way( especially masters)-because you can also be registered as psychologist( if you decided to purse in this field). Public administration is basically more or less "sounds better than Social work degree" and is no better to even... More

Masters in Psych IS useless to work in human services, social services - not only in Alabama! You probably need an MSW (masters in social work). Master in public is more for local govt jobs than anything specific in human services.administration, social work, etc.
