I am a white, male, heterosexual, conservative nerd. Why should I vote for Barack Obama?
On this blog(that is what this is) I frequently hear leftists saying, 'I'm a woman why should I vote for Romney,' or, I'm gay why should I vote for Romney.' They almost always want a discussion of what they see as their group interests, be it in affirmative action for blacks, church-provided birth control for women, or gay marriage for gays. Well I am not a member of those groups, so why should I vote for Obama. After all, would liberals like me personally? I am white and I have no interest in sexual promiscuity. I am a nerd who believes I am smarter and have worked harder than most other people. This video does not make me want to vote for Obama( see http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/25/obama-video-compares-voting-to-losing-virginity/ ). This video makes me want to vote for Romney, even though I think he is full of shit, I am going to be loyal to my group in this election. Why shouldn't I be? @DM what do you call being loyal to your group? @Marvinsu, I would like first to applaud you for trying to produce facts to support your arguement. Here are my problems with it. 1) Will dramatically increase prices for most people, will raise the price of employing a worker, and it violates our constitution 2) "unemployment claims began to subside." Are we to believe that unemployment claims would have continued at the same rate indefinnitly? We would have run out of jobs to loose! And private secor growth this year has been slower than last year, and last year was slower than the year before. 3) This does not resolve the major cause of the great reccesion, the giving of mortgages to people who couldn't pay them back.(Just imagine the left making it harder for the poor to get mortgages) And I challenge you to name some of the 'deregulations' of the Bush administration how they were reversed in the Obama administration. 4) No problem there, although Romney's plan would not have been different. 5) Who put the @Who else, how did Bush kill your job. Cite specific policies, not just something like 'he was president when I lost my job.' @puddy "AA fro Black people went out during the 70's" What? Why aren't you protesting on the streets? Liberals? @Lew, what? "you know where President Obama stands unwaveringly on each and every issue." Until this summer I thought he opposed gay marriage. Now I know he doesn't. I thought he wouldn't interfere with state marijuana laws. He has. I thought he'd cut the deficit in half. He doubled it. I thought he would oppose the Patriot Act. He made it ten times worse.

How did you do from 2001-2009? I'm a straight white male, not conservative but hard-working, and I lost my job under Bush-O-Nomics, which is all Romney has in the way of a plan to restore jobs and the economy. Are you willing to bet it won't be you next time... More

Hey John, I hear you. If you don't like either candidate in particular, remember the old saying: better the devil you know. No one really knows what Romney would do because he's unprincipled and will tell donors what he thinks they want to hear. At least you know where President Obama stands unwaveringly on each and... I'm sure some of Obama's policies speak out to you. Just because Democrats focus more on minorities and the poor, doesn't mean that the Republican party does not focus on minorities or the poor. Depending on your ideology, you could believe that conservatism supports minorities more (by giving more freedoms for people... More

You shouldn't. We don't want your vote, we don't need it. There are more socialists, women, gays, poor, and non-whites than there are of you.
