Does anyone have any solid advice on getting housing and evading authorities as an illegal immigrant in Japan?

I want to live in Japan for at least a few years, but I doubt I could get a job and live there legally. I could go back to college and study whatever is needed just to get a job there. Does anyone have any advice on securing a long-term stay in Japan by any means necessary? Legal and illegal answers are great, or a mix of the two. Any help is appreciated.

My solid advice ? Don't even think it ! Even with a degree, jobs aren't easy to get. Housing is impossible without a real job. Being non Japanese, you will stick out from everyone else. If the police stop you, you're toast.

Thinking outside the box is great, but maybe you need to think inside the box.. Get married. There are plenty of ppl (with money, and a place to live) that will marry and even support you. You just have to lower your standards.

Illegals can't get any basic service like National Health Insurance or so. There is no way to properly live in Japan as an illegal.

Illegally, forget it. You can't get a job, housing, health care and everyday services without a residence card and you have to be legal to get one of those.

If you don't have some friend to help you its going to be tough. The Japanese people are gossipy and they will be spying on you so give it up.
