Can an overseas trained Licensed Practical Nurse work in the USA?

I have a diploma of Nursing which enables me to practice as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse in Australia which is equivlent to a Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States.. I have read the immigration websites stating that you need at least a Bachelors to obtain a green card. How true is this? Do you know any overseas trained LPNs working in America?

Nurse visas were abolished several years ago, and those were for RNs, not LPNs, to begin with. Now, even a bachelors degree (BSN) plus experience is highly unlikely to get you an H1-b temporary employment visa (temporary! not a green card!). You really need MSN (masters) plus expertise in some specialty to have a... More

many lpns, rns and the like work as cnas...while retraining in the usa. you need 'hours' of training here. that being said- there is a huge need for all nursing levels in the US, so jobs will be easy so come by. Good luck!

there used to be a nursing visa for the US but it was stopped in 2006 when POTUS decided all nurss should be home grown A few RN nurses with advanced degrees and specialization can still get in under the H1B if the employer wants to go to that expense

Web site is true. There are more than enough LPN's who are looking for work in the US already. Such skill is easy to get and relatively cheap. Problem is you are skilled in another country and not skilled in the US. You do not make a desirable candidate for immigration. Stay in Australia. Their economy is better.

No work visa's are issued to LPN's, not enough of an educational degree. Perhaps a Masters degree in nursing and a highly specialized field might get you a visa.
