US Marine Corps Enlisted and Officer, whats the difference when looking at jobs between the two?

id like to have a bit more knowledge on Enlisting and being an Officer. Also some good jobs to apply for as an enlisted i have been looking at jobs such as logistics and tankman, also MP. Im wondering now though, is it possiable for an enlisted Marine to be able to earn the title of Pilot?

All naval aviators are officers, enlisted Marines can't be pilots. The last enlisted pilot was during WWII... More

Enlisted have more specific job functions than officers. Officers oversee a larger number of marines, they are managers who mostly push paper. The only divergence away from that is in the combat arms (infantry, artillery, tanks) where officers do a bit more direct manuever of troops. However, they still have a lot of... More

Fred Garvin - since you are such an "expert" why don't you explain to the Asker why, if Marine officers are just "paper pushers" Marine 2nd LTs suffer the highest casualty rates in combat? We get don't like officers but you should not be avoiding the question to vent.

Officers are like corporate executives. They lead. Enlisted is more hands on, but they do paperwork too. Higher the rank, but paperwork. No, pilots is an officer job, college degree and officers training required.
