How does a dedicated account for child ssi backpay work?

Hello my son just got approved for ssi after 8 months. We were told that his backpay would have to be put in a dedicated account where iwould only be able to use it for limited things! He has a secure disorder, adhd and anxiety..... Any of you have the same experience. What would happen if i just spent it without their permission

If it is to be put into a dedicated account you can only spend it for what is allowed. If you choose to spend it on other things you will be required to pay it back. The money is to be spent on the childs needs, not yours.
