Is network and System Administration a good field to go into?

I was thinking of getting a degree in it, I'm fixing to finish my Associates in Graphic Web Design, but I really liked the more software aspects of the degree than the designing, and I have a friend who's working on his A+ certification and all the hardware classes he's taking sound pretty cool. A local tech college offers a degree in it that will give me a certification in A+, CCNA (or something similar) and a couple of other abbreviations I can't remember, and it's about half as much per semester as the closest university is for the degree. I'm not sure if I should go to the university for the bachelors or not though, is this a field where there is even work? The degree I got is pretty much useless, I want to be able to actually get a decent job when I get out of college.
