How is technology important to ancient civilizations?

Can you give me reasons (and examples supporting the reasons)? Like how has technology contributed to civilizations like Sumer, Han, Ancient Egypt, Indus Valley? I know that technology has helped them solve problems, and helped ancient civilizations develop (like promoting trade and agriculture), but anything else? Thanks guys.

All of those civilizations invented writing, which allowed the storage & spread of ideas. They were also based around river valleys, meaning that boats and irrigation were important. So was animal domestication.

A major part of that time was warfare and it was the improving of working with meatals creating stonger and better class of swords and spears etc. Hman
