If you have a genetics engineering degree can you get any engineering job?

Hi my fiance is majoring in genetic engineering and about to get her bachelors in it. In my opinion and from research the job opportunities are very little in this field. So i have 2 questions. 1) with a genetics engineering job would she be able to do all engineering jobs or just genetic stuff 2) If she goes to get her masters is it possible for her to change her type of engineering degree such as to a biomedical engineer or is it to late?

I am baffled that she cannot gt a job in her field. "All engineering jobs" no. A masters would be even better in her current field because she has missed all the basic course work in most other engineering field.
