How much does it cost to become a doctor?

Well, after I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, I have had an obsession with medical topics. I would like to be a doctor and I want to know exactly what I have to do to become one. I'm going to do research but having a doctor answer my questions will be appreciated. Anyway, what type of college would i have to go to? How much (on average) will it cost? I'm not at all worried about the education, because I WANT to learn more on diseases, hormones, etc. Did you work a side job (something like cashier, nurse, whatever small job), and was it worth all the money? One of my major questions is how much money is needed up front for the first four years of college? I have absolutely no clue how you get into colleges, im just a sophomore in high school.

Besides the expensive costs, you will have to spend most of your life practicing the field of medicine, around 10 yrs and more. You will also have to choose your specialty in this field and take your masters in that field.
