Are you allowed to open two joint bank accounts at the same bank?

My boyfriend and I have a joint bank account that we use for direct deposit and we get his student loan automatically taken out each month but we are thinking of opening another for extra money from his other job. Is this allowed? We use TD bank

You're certainly allowed. Just keep in mind you'll be paying service fees again on this account as well - which is what discourages most people from not just keeping track of their money within one account instead of splitting it up into multiple. It would be better if you were to open the second one at another bank. Then your bank would never be able to withdraw from one to top up the other if you had some unforeseen financial problem.
