What time should I go in and apply for a bartending job?

I want to go in to this bar/night club to apply for a job/ask to fill out an application. I've been told that the standard time to go in and do this would be 2pm-4pm because it isn't as busy, but what if the club doesn't open until 5? If that is the case, when is an appropriate time to drop in?

2pm-4pm is the standard time to apply for restaurant/bar jobs. For restaurants and bars that open at 5 or 6pm come 10-15 minutes before they open. I would call the bar and ask to speak to the manager, tell him/her that you are interested in coming in to fill out an application but you want to know when is the best time. The manager might interview you the same time you get the application.
