What's the chance of immigrating to the US or Canada as a 3D artist?

I've been studying Maya and wondering: if I get good at it and post a 30 to 40 second demo reel on youtube, showing many techniques put together such as modeling, texturing, rigging, animating, dynamics, cloth, fur, hair, rendering..., what's the chance I get a job interview after calling a vfx or game company, showing them what I can do? My opinion is that there's no chance at all unless a miracle happens. I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, experience working in the IT department of 2 major banks, and a SCJP 6 from 2009. Every attempt to get a job when I called companies due to their job openings for java programmers, failed. I understand it's hard because I'm in brazil, thousands of miles away, and they'd have to initiate a process for a work visa, BUT... if they're posting it on the internet, I'm available, and they don't have anybody else, why not me? Any suggestions of how I could increase my chances? Thanks.

A lot of US work in these fields has been outsourced to South Korea over the past few years but my husband came to the US a decade ago on an H1-B visa for these very specialties. It's just a matter of finding a US employer with a need and the willingness to sponsor your work visa.
