Why is it so wrong to give citizenship to illegals that are not criminals?

Think about their children, jobs, contribution to our economy, assimilation to our culture, diversity. Why do Cons suggest to "deport" them?

could care less about any of that. come here legally or not at all. they have problems? then fix their own counries, dont come here to steal from us. we have our own growing problems.

One argument is that it is unfair to those who go through the legal citizenship process, and have to wait. Still, as a practical matter, we'll probably have to provide some path to citizenship for the present illegals.
