Has anyone else noticed how bad the economy is for young adults?

I am becoming so frustrated at the lack of job options out there for me. I am scared that I will not be able to pay off my student loans. I did two semesters at Kutztown University and took a break because I wanted to save money for books, I couldn't afford books when I was in college. Everyone I know has dropped out of school, even ppl I went to highschool with that I never would have expected would drop out have. I have since been stuck at minimum wage paying jobs. I am 20 and I feel like I'm 15. I am no where near becoming financially independent and it's killing me inside. I wanted to join the navy but I have sickle cell and I'm deaf in one ear. I feel so stuck and I can't get on welfare I can't I have too much pride. Idek what I'm gonna do. Every dream of mine seems d**n near impossible. I was just wondering if anyone else is as frustrated as me...

I disagree. There are plenty of jobs out there, just not people with the skills necessary to fill them. You see, employers aren't looking for people with degrees in X and Y. They are looking for people with SKILLS. Granted, a degree can act as a proxy for a certain skill set (i.e. engineering for engineers) but it is... More

Its mainly because job recruiters see young adults to have less or no experience in the work force. This is known as job discrimination.

I feel your pain. I am 23 and in college. The good news for me is I am graduating next semester. I have a pretty steady job and income source but in my case my parents have helped me through the worse. When you have a family like mine who cares so much they will help you through anything.
