How far back do they check driving record?

If I'm applying for an automotive technician job, and they want a clean driving far back to they usually check? What if there is a blemish on the record but it's from six years ago? Can I say it's clean? What if they are DUI's? One from six years, one from 9 years.

as long as their insurance company will insure you, there shouldn't be a problem. plus, it was 6 years prior, they'll probably look the other way.
