I got accepted to Yale University!!!!!?
Today I just got back Yale University's acceptance notification, and this occurrence just made my day. When I was on Yahoo Answer last time, I remembered some of you guys on yahoo said I wouldn't get accepted when I posted my credentials. -SAT I (breakdown): 800CR, 760WR, 710M (superscore) -SAT II: 800 Literature, 800 Latin, 710 Math II -Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.95 -AP (place score in parenthesis): English Lit (5), Latin: Vergil (5), Calculus AB (5) Senior Year Course Load: English XII, Psychology Elective, Latin V, French V Adv, AP Statistics, AP Physics B, Ancient Greek I, Theater IV Theatrical Production -Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): National creative writing (non-fiction) award, regional creative writing award, regional playwriting award, many in-school academic awards -Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Writing (national creative writing award - $5000 prize, playwriting award, scholarships/grants to attend Young Writers Workshop), Writing Workshop (Founder & co-head, $2000 grant for start-up), Theater (roles in five shows, senior year independent study in theatrical production--I also love comedic monologues and scenes, which a Theater rec attested to), French Literary Magazine (Editor-in-Chief, produces anthology of articles, essays, creative writing in French each year), Student Government (Junior Class President) -Job/Work Experience: Page at local library (9/07 - present) -Volunteer/Community service: Tutor at the Writing Center at my school, counselor at Creative Writing Summer Camp for kids -Summer Activities: Young Writers Workshop (08 and 09), Film Program (08), Volunteer counselor at Creative Writing Summer Camp for kids (09) -Essays: Fascination with words, reading Ayn Rand in rural Austria -Teacher Recommendation: Outstanding (French & English) -Counselor Rec: Outstanding (She's a wonderful person!) -Additional Rec: Outstanding (My mentor in writing and my theater teacher) -Interview: Good! Nice long talk. David, I also attended the Siemens competition too! Though, I didn't win. It's nice to see you are involved in those National Honor Society chapters.
