How to make her come along into the big, wide world?
There's this "girl" I've known all my life - I'm 41, she's 40. We used to play in the sandbox as kids together. I've always liked her a lot. Now she's a doctor in Bavaria, and I'm an education consultant in China, my home is in Sweden, and I want to retire in New Zealand (I'm a citizen there, so I may). She's from southern Germany, has her folks there, a good job. I'd like her to come away with me, live in Sweden and New Zealand. I think it's reasonably safe to do - both countries offer better social security than where she is now, and I know she loves New Zealand, too, has visited me there twice when I lived there. But she's so attached to her folks and her job in Bavaria... d**n. What can I possibly do? I've told her she's perfectly safe in Sweden and wouldn't even need to work if she doesn't want to... my house is paid off. I don't get it. Anyone with insight? What should I try?
