How does SSI disability find out if someone doesn't report extra income if they get paid in cash?

Let's say they get paid in cash for doing odd jobs, and they deposit money into an account. If they make more than the monthly limit, how would they find out? Let's say they do get a pay check and deposit it into an account, just for a 2 month time period, than they don't work again. Just wondering, not my situation, someone elses.

They probably wouldn't know. But if for some reason they found out = that would be SS fraud.

SS Agency does random checks of bank history. Cash Deposits show and eventually your friend would have to explain where the cash came from.

Someone needs to call the social security office and tell them.
