How is it really possible to have varied knowledge and passion?

I am Indian woman living in India. I have joined a job in an MNC organisation and people there seems to be all-rounder. They have varied passion, interest and knowledge. Despite working at office for 10 hours & doing household/family duties, they still have knowledge about Indian Saas-bahu daily soaps, reality shows, English daily soaps, both English and hindi movies, etc. They have passion for music, they daily hear music and have knowledge about English songs and music, etc, They know everything about fashion, they know history and details about their's & other's culture, they do social networking, they read a lot & discuss about books, author, articles etc. They have knowledge about stock exchange, they have knowledge about sports, sportsperson as well and they know about current affairs and also latest technologies.... But hell, I wake up everyday, finish household work, take bath, dress up and go to office and come back, get exhausted, cook, eat and sleep.... I just don't get time to hear music, watch English movies or hear English music, don't get time to read books or articles or blogs etc... I hardly read newspaper headline. I haven't developed much of knowledge about varied things. When they talk about various things, I keep quite like a stupid because I don't have much knowledge what they are talking about? I see Indian daily soaps, movies or hear hindi music its because when I reach home my family members are watching that so I watch with them once in while, BUT I don't get time to watch English soaps like "How I met your mother" "Friends" etc.... Then I really don't watch English movies much, and I just don't understand English songs, so remembering their singer and musician names is out of question.... Even if I hear English songs once in a while I don't remember its lyrics, but people at my office not only understand but also know the lyrics well, they also have varied interest in music and have knowledge about music, then they also have read various books and they discuss about it. They have knowledge about latest trends, fashion, technologies, history, stock market,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, & I DON'T - WHY? I WONDER HOW THEY GET SO MUCH OF TIME? I AGREE I AM A BIT LAZY BUT STILL - HOW? I haven't wrote above line in caps to shout but to put emphasis on it......

Let me put some perspective to my situation. I am a 17 year old high school student in the U.S. and, with school work, a job, and friends, I find it difficult to understand how all of my classmates have time for a job, attending social events almost daily, doing extracurriculars, and even doing sports. They are what... More

It seems you are carried away by boasting of some people. Everybody cannot know everything. Some may talk about movies, some may talk about literature and some may talk about TV shows and soaps. You compare yourself with all and think that all of them they know everything. Sometimes people just talk rubbish to impress... More
