As far as getting a date, how is your appearance, you're personality, your technique?
Appearance is super important. Mom may tell you what's inside is more important, but if people aren't attracted by what they see, they won't care what's inside. Spend some of your time getting fit. You don't have to be a muscle man, but basic fitness makes you look better, gives you a better posture and walk, and so on. Be clean (hair, fingernails and breath, too), and for interviews and work, be neat. For the women, figure out what kind of woman you like and then think about what kind of man she'd like. Are you that man? If not, either change yourself or change your standards for which ladies you ask out.
Personality counts, too. You don't have to be the life of the party, but you don't want to come across as a wuss, a loser or a jerk.
And for pickup techniques - don't use them. A natural hello works much better.
