What type of jobs could a MMFN on a submarine do after leaving Navy?

Just looking at our options and curious what type of jobs could fit his qualifications. He's not a nuke. Our time to reenlist is approaching and I want to be sure we are making the best decision. Any advice from past submariners or any one educated in this process would be so appreciated! Thank you! * My husband is an auxillary man MM.

A non nuke Machinist Mate aboard subs are either a Auxiliary Man or Weapons Type. If he is an Auxiliary type, he is trained for diesel engine repair and air conditioning and refrigeration to name a few. His job opportunities are endless. Both are hydraulic and pneumatic experts as well. Good luck! ..

An A-gang MMFN approaching re-enlistment. I think you mis-typed that surely your hubby is not an E3. A-gangers are usually good welders, HVAC plumbers, reasonable machinists, and more. They are normally very talented, and can find good jobs outside.
