I want to have a government job, what do I major in at College?

More specifically I want to work either at the National Archives, the library of congress, or the smithsonian institute. Is there anything particular I have to major in at college?

Look into the field known as Public History. Keep in mind that there are VERY few jobs in this field, and even fewer that pay much money.
