How can a sociologist genuinely maintain value neutrality while studying a group that he or she finds repugnant (for example, a White supremacist organization, a satanic cult, or a group of convicted rapists)? This is the whole question

in your line of work you will find people you don't like but that's part of your job and your job isn't to judge people its to Analise and help people, when your dealing with someone you find "repugnant" try dealing with their issues rather then the person and i realize that might be difficult but give it a try it... Sociology is all about opinion and theory. There is no real "science" despite the fact that sociologists will tout "the scientific method" as a way of legitimizing their study. How can humans examine human behavior unbiased? It cannot be truly be done.

By remembering that these are human beings, that make unrealistic choices that are extreme in negative ways. There value may be that of only showing another person what not to do, stressing consequences of behavior.
