What is the difference between a degree in Aerospace Engineering and one in Aeronautics?

I've been planning to enroll at a college I thought offered a degree in aerospace engineering but I recently found out that they offer a degree in "aeronautics" instead. While I think that the difference between aeronautical engineering and aerospace engineering is basically null, I feel like there may be a big difference in aeronautics and aeronautical engineering. Does anyone have insight as to how the programs might differ?

I don't doubt IndianaJohn's expertise on the matter. Though I do think the terms are mostly synonymous, particularly in a university setting. Aerospace will have orbital mechanics and heavy emphasis on the thermal sciences. Aeronautical is more about aircraft and the physics involved in flight.
