Are women as equally capable as men? Or are men simply better at some jobs?

For example firefighters, policemen military etc. Why should women be treated as if they are equal when they clearly are not equal especially when it comes to physical type jobs? Clearly men are better at certain jobs so why is it wrong to say so? The president of Harvard was fired for postulating a question that it is possible that men are simply better at math and science and was fired for merely suggesting so. Yet the same university gives preferential treatment to female business students because men out perform women consistently in exams. If the approach is taken that men can never better at anything than a woman and if this occurs then the system must be to blame then is this not naked discrimination against those that embarrass women. Why is it that when women have an advantage in a particular area such as languages that the gender gaps their in favour of women is never addressed? If only a single gender gets treated this way is the other gender not discriminated against? Thus is "equality" for women not discrimination against those that disprove the theory of equality. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/08/education/harvard-case-study-gender-equity.html?_r=1&

its a really dumb question because in general, one might say men are physically stronger than women, but even if they are or can bench press, do they always show it? no. many are whiny wimps. physically capable of lifting weights doesn't make one brave, intelligent, fair, or in long lasting good shape. idiot cops... You are making a lot of unfounded assumptions here. First you assume there is no affirmative action for men when there indeed is. 'A survey of admissions directors released last week found that male applicants of all races are far more likely to benefit from affirmative action-like policies than female applicants."(... More

I don't agree with you fully, but I do fully agree with you that women shouldn't be in positions which require physical strength to protect people like police jobs, fire fighting etcetera because men are simply better at those jobs.

Men are simply, on average, better at some jobs. That does not mean that all men will be better at that job than all women. Similarly, women are simply, on average, better at some jobs. That does not mean that all women will be better at the job than all men. So long as there is a single standard for everyone, and this... More

Women have the same mental capacity as men, but women do not have the same physical capacity on average. So, men might be naturally better at physical jobs because they are born taller and stronger on average... More

This is borderline mysogenistic. Women are actually more academically involved than men. Being biologically more suited to grunt work and lifting makes us as men in no way superior. Up until very recently men made all the decisions and have been destroying this world, with no help from women.
